Proudly serving both his Commonwealth and his nation with an uncompromising belief in the original intent of our state and federal constitutions and a proven understanding of what it takes to be a public servant, Rep. Jake Banta (R-Erie) was elected to represent the people of the 4th Legislative District in November 2022.

During the 2023-24 Legislative Session, Jake has been appointed to serve on the following standing House committees: Game and Fisheries, State Government, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness.

Born and raised in Waterford, PA, Jake graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1983 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seals. After being honorably discharged, Jake returned to the farm he grew up on and worked in the oil and natural gas industry.

Following the 9/11 attacks on America, Jake went to work as a Security Specialist for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), serving his nation in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Middle Eastern areas of operations for 18 years.

With his own company, Banta Security LLC, he also served as a Maritime Security officer in the Middle East and Central America.

Over the years, Jake also had a musical career—spanning more than three decades— locally to nationally.

Jake is a proud husband, father of three and grandpa to two grandkids. When he does have free time, Jake spends his days farming and hunting.
