Banta Announces More Than $480,000 for Traffic Signal Equipment Upgrades in Corry

ERIE – Corry will receive $482,240 in state funding from the Green Light-Go program to upgrade traffic signal equipment at four intersections within the city, Rep. Jake Banta (R-Erie) announced today.

Upgrades will be made at the intersections of:

• North Center Street and East Bond Street.
• South Center Street and South Street.
• Columbus Avenue and North Center Street.
• East Columbus Avenue and Shady Avenue.

The Green Light-Go program aims to improve traffic safety and mobility on Pennsylvania roads by reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.

“Every single upgrade we can make on our roads is an investment in the safety of all residents and visitors who drive in our communities,” Banta said. “I’m pleased to see Corry benefitting from this funding and look forward to how it can improve these intersections for all drivers, bikers and pedestrians who use them.”

Corry was one of 86 municipalities across the Commonwealth to benefit in this most recent round of Green Light-Go grants. Funding is provided as reimbursements to municipalities for projects that improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.
